8/13/2010– The next Cote Reunion is already in the planning stages! It will be held on July 29-31st. August 6th 2011. Jackie has booked space at Bellmont Lake State Park on Long Island. According to Jackie “The rowboats are still there. They have ball fields. hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, etc. Here is the website http://nysparks.state.ny.us/parks/88/details.aspx We can come up with something fun to do on Friday to kick off the weekend and perhaps even something on Sunday if there is interest.”

Further details on lodging still to come so stay tuned. At this reunion,we will also celebrate Aunt Peggy’s 100th birthday!

5/7/09– Update from Jackie about the reunion:

“Hello Friends and Family,

Plans for the Family Reunion are moving along. What could be more fun than Christmas (but without the cold and snow)? So our theme this year is “Christmas in July.” Think reindeer games, jingle bell hop, and Christmas dinner at Grandma’s. Come with your Christmas finery. You know, the snowman sweater and matching hat your Mom knit for you, or the jingle bell necktie the kids gave you. We all have something like that stuck away in the closet. If you don’t, you’ll have to get creative and come up with an outfit for dinner.

And what would Christmas be without the gifts. So dig out that bottle of cologne or the thing-a-ma-jig the neighbors gave you. It’s your opportunity to “regift” at the gift exchange.

It’s all going to be a lot of fun but I need some help from you now. I need to know that you are coming. Please drop me a line and tell me how many of your family you expect to attend. It’s not set in stone, I won’t hold you to it, but I need to have an idea for the dinner. I also need to know your family members shirt sizes.

I have reserved Tee times for golf (morning this year) and I need to know if you are planning to play.

I would really like to have a slide show of family Christmas pictures to show at the dinner. Do you think you could all scan some of your family pictures and send them to me? Otherwise you will only have pictures of my family to look at and you might get bored with that (although I do have two beautiful granddaughters now!).

So, here’s what you have to do:

1. E-mail me to let me know you are coming, how many are playing golf, and what your tee-shirt sizes are.

2. Scan and send Christmas photos (as many as you can)

3. Call the Lancaster Host and make room reservations (717-299-5500)

4. Send me $75/adult or $37.50 /child

9/11/08– Update from Jackie regarding the 2009 Cote Reunion:

“Dear Family and friends,

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and school is right around the corner. Summer ’08 is coming to an end. Before you close the calendar for this summer, turn ahead to next summer and mark the dates for the Cote Family Reunion. We are meeting again in Lancaster, PA from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, August 2, 2009.

I know there have been lots of going’s on in the family. Drop me a line and let me know what’s been happening in your family. There have been a few weddings and births that I know of. The family continues to grow. So plan on meeting again in Lancaster and catching up with your cousins.

4/4/07– Reunion 2007 update from Jackie Mills:

“If you have been to prior reunions you know what fun we have. If you haven’t been to one yet, you don’t know what you are missing. Not only is it a wonderful time to catch up with the cousins, aunts, and uncles who you don’t often see, but with your brothers and sisters too. There will be games for the children, golf for the men, softball, swimming, and a family banquet with music provided by the Campbell boys who livened up the last reunion.

Having the luau theme last time was a lot of fun so we have chosen a 50’s Rock & Roll theme for this reunion. Get out your poodle skirt and saddle shoes, we want you dress in theme for the dinner. And practice your twisting ’cause it’s going to be a sock hop at the reunion.” THE HOST RESORT IS NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR OUR REUNION AUG. 10-12, 2007!

11/27/06– Reunion 2007 update from Jackie Mills: “We are returning to the Host Resort in Lancaster, Pa. The dates of the reunion are August 10-12, 2007. If you have come to the past two reunions, you know that it is a great opportunity to gather together with aunts, uncles, and cousins who you don’t often see. It’s also a lot of fun! What makes it work is the effort of so many to come from far and wide to be there. So I hope you will start planning now with your families to make the trip again this summer. And bring the family members who couldn’t make it last time. We miss them.”

Hi all,

I received the following note from Laura Irick (Pat Schoenenberger’s daughter) and she asked me to post it on the website. Her husband, Jerry, is in the military in Iraq.

Dear Family,

Please pray for our boys and could you please send them a few words of encouragement sometime? They are in Iraq for a second deployment (Sept.’05-Mar’07) and I know they’d really appreciate a few kind words and prayers–especially Russ who doesn’t have a family. Thanks

8/25/05– I believe I can speak for everyone in saying that the Cote Reunion 2005 was a smashing success! Lots of good times, even throughout the blistering heat!

I encourage everyone to talk about the reunion on the Cote Family forum.

Also, I would love photo submissions from the event. The addresses to submit photos are on our photo page.

Plans are already underway for another reunion in 2007!

NEW COTE REUNION IN THE WORKS:

Hello Family,

With summer arriving, it’s time to make plans for the Cote Family Reunion 2005. Keep the weekend of August 12, 13, and 14, 2005 available on your calendar. Since everyone seemed to enjoy the last location (and no one offered a better suggestion) we will be going back to the Lancaster Host Hotel and Resort in Lancaster, Pa. I have reserved a block of rooms in the Cote Reunion name but everyone is responsible for making their own reservations. I’ll be in touch to let everyone know how they can help, but for now I just wanted to make you aware of the dates. I’m hoping we have an even bigger turnout next year than last. Have a great summer. You’ll hear from me again in the Fall.
